40MW Heavy Fuel Oil (HFO) Power Plant Powers Australian Iron Mines

A 40MW HFO power plant has been established to support iron mining operations in Australia, meeting the highest global standards in the world’s most stringent land-based power plant market. Based on the old plant foundation, limited space and very strict requirements for system reliability, the design and construction of the power plant is extremely difficult, but it is still completed with strong teamwork.

The plant features seven diesel generating sets, each equipped with STX-MAN 12V32/40 engines. Additionally, the HFO power station system includes four exhaust gas and radiator units, ensuring efficient energy production and heat management. This state-of-the-art power plant provides a reliable and robust energy solution, supporting the continuous and demanding operations of the mining sector.
