China’s First Intelligent Large-Scale FPSO Sets New Industry Standards

The CNOOC/SK Offshore Platforms are now powered by a 4×5500kW FPSO crude oil power plant, supporting operations on China’s first intelligent large-scale FPSO (Floating Production, Storage, and Offloading unit).

This 100,000-ton-class FPSO features a double-bottom, double-hull design with a projected 30-year service life. Measuring 241.5m in length and 45.2m in width, and weighing 45,000 tons, it employs a single-point mooring system capable of operating at depths of 236 meters. Built to meet both CCS and ABS classification standards, it is designed to operate 15 years without dry-docking and withstand once-in-a-century typhoons, ensuring exceptional durability and reliability in harsh offshore environments.
